Last month, the Machine Learning and Perception Group (MLP) hosted a KinderUni Nürnberg workshop titled “Discover the World with Machine Learning”. Aimed at children aged 8–12, the session introduced key machine-learning concepts in a fun way. During the workshop, children learned the basics of machine learning through interactive, hands-on activities. Using colorful plastic bricks, they explored three core building blocks of machine learning—hardware, algorithms, and data. The children created their own small datasets, trained simple recognition models, and tried them out, turning abstract ideas into something they could see and experiment with directly.
