Professor André Kaup, Head of the Chair of Multimedia Communications and Signal Processing (LMS) at Friedrich-Alexander University Erlangen-Nürnberg, has been appointed as a member of the IEEE Signal Processing Society Fellow Evaluation Committee. This appointment recognizes Professor Kaup’s standing as an internationally respected expert, reflecting the high esteem in which his research and professional contributions are held by the global scientific community.

The Fellow Evaluation Committee plays a critical role within the IEEE Signal Processing Society. It is responsible for rigorously evaluating nominations for elevation to the grade of IEEE Fellow — one of the highest honours in engineering and technology — within the field of signal processing. Committee members are entrusted with maintaining the quality, integrity and excellence of this prestigious distinction by assessing candidates’ technical achievements, impact and leadership.

The IEEE Signal Processing Society is one of the largest and most influential societies within the IEEE, the world’s leading professional organization dedicated to advancing technology for the benefit of humanity. With hundreds of thousands of members worldwide, the IEEE supports cutting-edge research, education and standardization in electrical engineering, computing and related disciplines.

Professor Kaup’s appointment highlights not only his individual accomplishments, but also FAU’s visibility and influence within the international signal processing research community. Professor Walter Kellermann, Life Fellow of the IEEE and Emeritus of LMS, has also been re-elected to the same committee for a another term.
