Best Paper Award at the PCS 2025
The paper “TreeNet: A Light Weight Model for Low Bitrate Image Compression” by Mahadev Prasad Panda, Purnachandra Rao Makkena, Srivatsa Venkatachari Prativadibhayankaram, Siegfried Fößel, and André Kaup received the Best Paper Award at the Picture Coding Symposium 2025, which took place from December 8 to 11 in Aachen, Germany. The paper is the result of a collaboration between Fraunhofer IIS and LMS. Moreover, the LMS presented the contributions „A High-Level Feature Model to Predict the Encoding Energy of a Hardware Video Encoder“ of Diwakara Reddy, Christian Herglotz and André Kaup, and „Sliding Window Attention for Learned Video Compression“ of Alexander Kopte and André Kaup at the PCS.
