The chair congratulates Julian Wiederer on the successful defense of his PhD thesis, “Learning to Quantify Uncertainty in Multi-Agent Traffic Behavior for Automated Driving.” Completed under the supervision of Prof. Vasileios Belagiannis in close cooperation with Mercedes-Benz AG, this research addresses critical challenges in autonomous systems by developing methods for vehicles to detect abnormal traffic patterns and estimate trajectory reliability for safer navigation. We extend our appreciation to external reviewer Prof. Lazaros Nalpantidis, committee members Prof. Bernhard Egger and Prof. André Kaup, and industry mentor Dr.-Ing. Ulrich Kreßel for their valuable contributions and expertise.
