Research at the chair is divided into several areas of work. The main focus is on audio and video signal processing. Methodically, classical concepts from signal processing are applied and further developed. But new and promising future concepts such as statistical approaches, deep learning and big data are being researched to tackle and solve current problems.
The research has produced and continues to produce numerous publications attesting to the quality and relevance of the research. This includes not only publications in internationally recognized conferences and journals, but also patents and book publications. The projects are financed by well-known donors such as the DFG, the BMWi, or the EU. In addition, there are diverse industrial projects with well-known companies such as the Fraunhofer Gesellschaft.
