Seeking: Research assistant (m/f/d) with the possibility of a PhD in the field in the field of deep learning

We, the Chair of Multimedia Communications and Signal Processing, are looking to recruit a

research associate (m/f/d) (EG 13 TV-L, 100%)

with the possibility of a PhD in the field of deep learning with focus on model transfer from simulation to real-world (sim2real).

Your tasks:
• Research on transferring deep neuronal networks from simulation to the real world.
• Independent scientific collaboration in the research activities of the chair.
• Interaction with partners and further development of research problems.
• Writing of scientific publications and presenting research results at international conferences.
• Contribution in the teaching activities (English and German) of the chair.

Your Background:
• You have completed your studies in electrical engineering, information technology, computer science, mathematics or physics or a related subject with above-average success.
• You have excellent knowledge of machine learning, deep learning or computer vision, including the topics of semantic object segmentation, depth estimation, sim2real, domain randomization, deep neural networks.
• You have very good programming skills (e.g., Python, C/C++).
• You work independently and have good self-organisation skills.
• You are aiming for a PhD.
• You are interested in helping with teaching.
• You have very good written and spoken English and German skills.
