Since March 2025 I am working on 360-degree image- and video coding. 360-degree data contains visual information from each direction and is used for applications like virtual- or augmented reality (VR, AR), autonomous driving, or surveillance systems. The current focus is on adapting learning-based video codecs to the spherical geometry. Also, creating a high-quality evaluation test set is part of my research.
